Casa Dodo Guatapé

One not to pass over, unassuming externally but had everything one could need.

Aspectos positivos: Lovely, roomy 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom flat on the top edge of the town with a side view of the lake. Although a busy waterfront it was quiet at night and had double glazing in the bedroom. The breakfast choices were extensive and delicious and were delivered to the door at a time chosen by us. Valery is a fantastic host and always available by WhatsApp or telephone if needed. Added benefits were some Colombian chocolate, tea brought in especially for me, ground filter coffee and fresh milk. Valery will also help with advice on what to do and arranging airport transfers if needed, which for us was invaluable. In addition, the hosts are very environmentally aware and help local businesses. It was a wonderful stay hosted by very caring people.

Aspectos negativos: Nothing!

Aspectos positivos: I don't think we ever stayed in a place which was so well equipped and everything was so well planned and considered as in Casa Dodo. Very welcoming host, ready to give you recommendations and to help with arranging a transport. Apartment was very spacious and had all the needed facilities. Washing machine and dryer saved us! Absolutely recommend the place!!!

Fabulous stay in the heart of Guatape

Aspectos positivos: Everything way perfect, the property had 2 bedrooms and bathrooms that were very clean and every single detail had been thought about. Valery and Noralys our hosts were amazing, they couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. If you get the chance definitely stay here. It’s perfectly located to do everything!

Aspectos positivos: The host is very helpful! She helped us organise paragliding and transport. There is a book with tips for excursions, restaurants, and transport. The apartment is in the city centre. Very clean and it has everything to feel comfortable. I would recommend this place!

The perfect stay

Aspectos positivos: We had an amazing stay at Casa Dodo. The communication was great, we also loved the apartment. Valery knows what guests like and need from all of her travels. We wish we had stayed an extra night. We loved the recommendations for restaurants.

Aspectos positivos: Cosy and has everything you need, even a restaurant downstairs for a quick dinner.

Comfortable apartment, near centre of Guatape, definitely worth staying a couple of nights in this beautiful town

Aspectos positivos: Great location near the centre of Guatape, and also the Malecon walking area alongside the lake. Our host, Valery, was very helpful and welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. Apartment was clean and comfortable, breakfast was served in the apartment at a time convenient to us and we had a choice of fruits, yogurt, eggs, bacon etc

Great overall

Aspectos positivos: The town of Guatapé is really worth a longer stop. We stayed two nights at Casa Dodo, but we could have stayed longer. The kitchen was functional and clean. The bedroom was also well laid out and ergonomic. Breakfast was good and the staff was really friendly.

Aspectos negativos: I didn't sleep all that well on the bed, though my wife did. It was a bit hard to my taste. There wasn't an outdoor-facing window or patio door, only towards other buildings. It ended up cutting a lot of the outside noise though, so it's not all negative! The lighting could have been better, especially in the living room, where a lamp could have added a lot.

A perfect stay

Aspectos positivos: Absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we got there and met Valery to leaving, it was great! Firstly and maybe most importantly is what a host Valery is! We spent quite a lot of time talking to her when we checked in and on another occasion, and she was just lovely! The apartment is so homely, with all the little thoughtful touches that really enhances your stay! There is a book with so much information about Guatape and where to eat, which was very useful! The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The restaurant downstairs really hits the spot if you're craving Asian food (The sushi is yum)! We really regretted that we cut our time in Guatape, and honestly, a lot of it was because we wanted more time at Casa Dodo! If you are considering staying here, BOOK already, and you will be so happy for it!
