The Somos Bold Hotel

A solid choice

Aspectos positivos: A beautiful building in a very safe area of Medellin! Room was comfortable and staff were pleasant. Room well equipped.

Aspectos negativos: We were on the fifth floor under the rooftop bar - it got a little noisy at times but not late into the night! I wouldn’t let it deter you especially if you’re on a lower floor!

Aspectos positivos: Great location in a safe neighbourhood. Shower was amazing, hot water with incredible pressure. A very nice treat after our Amazon stay. Staff very friendly. We stayed here twice. Laundry service was very helpful after the jungle and back within the promised time. Left luggage facilities useful as we arrived early. Breakfast was delicious, be aware they make it fresh to order, we assumed it would be a buffet so didnt allow enough time to sit and enjoy it on the first stay, which was our mistake.They kindly boxed it up for us while we ran for our taxi. Dinner was very nice and had live music. Be aware it is busy on weekends, so I'd advise booking. We didnt think about this on the first night but there was a pasta/steak place around the corner which was also great food. We booked at the hotel restaurant for the next day. Really nice food. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend this place.

Beautiful hotel with nice roof terrace, great location, but take a taxi

Aspectos positivos: The location is great, and the hotel itself is very nice. Nice bed and shower. Kudos for the roof terrace which is fantastic.

Aspectos negativos: We had the family room and were sleeping in the room with 4 people. The bathroom is separated by a curtain and the bathroom and toilet have a glass panel in between, which does not give much privacy. With all the beautiful design in the hotel, I would expect them to give this a bit more thought. The driver who would pick us up was not at the airport when we arrived, so we took a taxi. In the end the taxi costs 13,000 pesos (3 euros) where the hotel charged us 215,000 (over 40 euros) for the pick up. That’s just criminal. The desk staff was not very nice about this when asked upon.

Unexpectedly Wonderful Stay

Aspectos positivos: We loved everything about this hotel. They were kind and helpful from the beginning. We arrived very early, about 6:00 and were so tired. The staff at the reception helped us with early check in and even upgraded us to a room with a balcony. Both interior and exterior of the building are original, artsy and beautiful. The city is green and this hotel is full of plants, too. The restaurant on top offers delicious breakfast and the staff there are kind and hospitable, too. The room was just large enough and the minibar well-equipped. The views from every window were stunning. The bed is extremely comfortable. We had all the amenities we needed, and upon request we also got a hairdryer and an iron. All in all, we enjoyed our short stay here. The location is great, right in the city centre. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants around. If we come back to Medellin, we’ll come here.

Perfect stay in Medellin

Aspectos positivos: The reception is perfect. Especially Daniela. She is the best, always helping out with different requests with lovely smiles!

Aspectos negativos: I think overall nothing to complain about. Maybe the room door is a little bit difficult to open with the card....

A Stylish Stay with Some Downsides.

Aspectos positivos: -Great Location – Situated in Manila, El Poblado, a lively and safe area with restaurants, cafés, and a great vibe. -Beautiful Design & Atmosphere – The hotel has a modern, stylish ambience that feels trendy and welcoming. -Rooftop Restaurant & Nightlife – A great space for breakfast with a view and an amazing dinner experience with live music or a DJ. -Friendly & Helpful Staff – The reception and restaurant staff are very accommodating, making the stay pleasant. -Comfortable Bed & Pillows – The king-size bed and pillows ensure a great night’s sleep. -Safe for Solo Travellers – The area is secure, and the hotel staff is attentive, making it ideal for solo travellers.

Aspectos negativos: The Standard Suite with Jacuzzi – 1 King Size Bed (3rd floor) internal view to a plant wall. felt too small and claustrophobic, even after the hotel removed some furniture.( Bigger rooms are the ones with city view!) -Limited storage space, with only a small wardrobe that wasn’t enough to unpack properly. -Breakfast had only three set options, and extras like an additional egg were overpriced (£2/~$2.50 USD) with extra service charges. Better breakfast alternatives nearby, making it more worthwhile to eat at a local café instead of paying for extras at the hotel.

Great location, clean hotel, friendly staff and extremely safe.

Aspectos positivos: Somos Bold is a great hotel, close enough to the busy Provenza area but in a more quiet relaxed neighborhood, which provides lots of places to eat and drink, all within walking distance. Breakfast was included, the location for the breakfast is the rooftop restaurant which provides amazing views of Medellin, and is beautifully decorated. There are 3 breakfast options, of which option 3 changes everyday and the portions are good. Our server Auriane had a great personality and went above and beyond for our group of 10. Looking forward to staying there again on my next visit.

Phenomenal decor and vibe

Aspectos positivos: Daniela and Alejandra at reception were phenomenal. The staff in the canteen were also super attentive. The rooms were incredible. Very stylish and sexy.

Aspectos negativos: A little bit expensive for a solo traveler

Nice, safe, model hotel

Aspectos positivos: Clean, comfortable, edgy hotel. Amazing breakfast! Beautiful views from the rooftop. Welcome drinks and the staff were so nice and helpful!

Aspectos negativos: Rooftop bar noise can be heard from rooms but soundproofing hallway doors did help! Bathroom (curtain) doesn’t offer as much privacy if sharing. Bit further from the nightlife of Poblado
